TWO TIMES AMERICAN, TWO TIMES PROUD™

                                                                             African American
                                                                               Pledge of Unity

We stand, Together, after Placed Alone in a land we Never Knew. We Bind ourselves, Together, with the Blood and Will of Those who have gone before. From the Bodies of our Ancestors thrown away, from the Pieces of Ourselves left to perish, we Rise as One, a New Body in a New Land, a New People in a New Nation.  Of Mind, Body, and Spirit; By Declaration of Our Individual and Personal Authorities United, We Are African America.

Welcome to the home page of  The Institute for African American National Heritage [I.A.A.N.H.]. The Institute is dedicated to the support of African America the ancestral nationality of Americans of unknown African ancestry, wholly or in part. That support is critical to Americans of such ancestry, and our status in the society in which we live. The Institute has developed the rationale to counter the challenges that are sure to be presented. These challenges will be from persons of both unknown, and known African ancestry, as well as the expected challenges from persons of non-African ancestry. Ancestral national ancestry is critical to the self-awareness, competitive position, comparative position, and the general welfare of our children in pursuing their lives in our country's societal language, and practices, of multiculturalism and diversity.

Ethnicity is a key parameter to participation in American society, and all of its institutions.  Effective ethnicity cannot exist, however, without the declaration of ownership by the members of the group.  It is absolutely critical that the language describing and referencing the group be defined by the members of that group.  Without this exercise of ownership, others will fill that void thereby making the group, and the members of the group whatever they want them to be.

The Institute for African American National Heritage is dedicated to meeting that societal obligation.
